Monitoring and Evaluation Training Seminar for IAs

A two-day Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) training programme was organised for all implementing agencies participating in the Ghana MSME project from the 14th - 15th June 2007, at Volta hotel, Akosombo. The meeting was opened by the Deputy Minister of Trade/PSD/PSI Honorable Kwadwo Afram-Asiedu. Implementing agencies that participated are:MOTI, Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Ministry of Communication (MOC), Registrar General's Department (RGD), Food and Drugs Board (FDB) and the Ghana Standards Board (GSB).

The objective of the programme was to emphasise the important role of M&E in the implementation of the Ghana MSME project and the duties / functions expected M&E schedule officers at the various implementing agencies.

Participants were walked through key concepts of project management, monitoring and evaluation, and the linkages between M&E, Procurement and Financial Management.

Having being exposed to various techniques in M&E, as well as project management, it is expected that all M&E officers now have a better understanding of their roles on the MSME project and are better equipped to deliver results.
